   One of the most popular black metal bands from England (or, for that matter, any country other than Norway), Cradle Of Filth has parlayed a keen eye for marketing and a consistently high quality of music to forge a stellar career that, with their recent signing to a major label, is still on the rise. Musically they are rooted in the more symphonic-based division of black metal, as pioneered by bands such as Emperor (though they have gradually strayed from the more traditional black metal style in recent years), highlighted by increasingly versatile, yet always distinctive, vocals of mainman Dani Davey. The band has survived numerous lineup changes over the years, with many members serving time in other prominent bands as shown below.
